Aviation is an integral part of the global economy, and has to be fully aware of the role it plays in maintaining a stable environment. Whilst there is still some uncertainty as to the direction of any global policy on the impact of aviation emissions on our environment, a number of industry participants are suggesting measures for either charging for emissions or methods of quantifying the output.
RDC Aviation is at the forefront of engine emissions analysis and carbon footprinting. Working with leading environmental consultancy Entec, we are able to provide a full range of environmental impact assessments including:
We have also developed a series of emissions calculation tools for in-house analysis and an online calculator for single route use.
The software application is available in two forms - a stand-alone, or part of the route pro package. The stand-alone utility is designed for airline, airport and government use and allows upload of a whole or part airline network or flight schedule for detailed reporting and analysis. The output can be produced to show gaseous emissions and fuel burn for each stage of the flight cycle - taxi, landing/take off, climb/cruise/descent and approach - with bespoke airline, engine and APU data. It allows users to assess output for all, or parts of, existing network or fleet. The output can be re-modelled with any number of variations, from different aircraft type to a wholly different network. When taken as part of route pro, cost of carbon and/or NOx can be instantly added and viewed separately or as part of the route/network operating economics.
